Mutika # 4

I was out in Gunbalunya (Oenpelli) in June 09 and found this Mutika, decaying gracefully, abandoned outside Anthony Murphys place on the Gunbalunya Billabong

Now Murph’s a picture person and the long serving administrator, motivator, and energy source of the the world renowned Injalak Arts Centre, so when GDF contacted him about this particular Mutika his words were succinct and to the point.

“It was brought up from Adelaide by Flinders University Archaeology School
in 2007
The starter motor died and while it was sitting idle, kids smashed up the
windows
Injalak now has custodianship of it
A”
